Wednesday morning teachers and pupils assembled to make a tour around the Island in a bus-trip sponsored by Rotary club Curacao.
Their yearly around the Island trip has a major stop at Landhuis Kenepa. It may not be well known, but a great deal of Curacao history can be found on the lower part of the Island, “Banda Abao”. In many of the recently started and or restored museums around the Island we can find fine samples of history of living conditions and historic events. Landhuis Kenepa was the place where Tula, Basjan Karpata, and many others organized and started their early morning march towards to face the unknown "freedom" or "defeat".
